Getting Talent Back to Work

    July 31, 2019

Every year approximately 700,000 people are released from prison and looking for a second chance in order to provide for themselves and their families. These individuals often face many challenges to finding a job, which might lead them back to a life of crime. Some organizations struggle to fill positions and refuse to tap into this labor pool. Very few companies actively recruit people who have been incarcerated. The purpose of this presentation is to support SHRM’s Getting Talent Back to Work initiative, review the toolkit and discuss  how we can come up with a strategic plan to give candidates a second chance.

Additionally, SMA South Florida is excited to partner with Keiser University to collect school supplies for Keiser's Kits for Kids, Broward Education Foundation and SOS Children Village. Bring a donation and you will be entered into our free raffle to win a prize.

HR Florida has collaborated with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). This event will feature a short presentation by AFSP, whose mission is to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. Come out learn about what they have to offer!
