    SMA South Florida Membership Information

    SMA South Florida provides quality employment-related programs focusing on recruitment and retention. Our purpose is to add value to the employment process through education, innovation and the identification of technology advances and best practices in the field. We do this through a minimum of 6 meetings per year providing professional speakers and the opportunity to network with other professionals responsible for staffing or employment-related activities, as well as individuals who provide services for employment related functions.

    As a Special Interest Chapter affiliated with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), all SMA members must first be active members of SHRM in good standing.  SMA South Florida members include those individuals who are either engaged in supervising, managing, or performing an employment or placement function in a direct or indirect basis or engaged in activities supporting the employment or placement function.  We also service those who have a bona fide interest in employment management.  All active members may vote on Chapter issues.  All applications shall be reviewed by the Vice-president for Membership and approved by the Board of Directors. New members shall be afforded full membership rights from the date of application approval by the Board of Directors.
     

    Our Member Application form will conveniently allow new members to join in moments and remit payment through credit card or check.  Annual dues must be received with the Application for Membership along with SHRM membership confirmation.

    What does it mean to have SMA as your Primary Chapter Designation?

    By completing the online application and stating you wish to designate SMA as your Primary SHRM Chapter, you are authorizing SHRM to provide financial support to the chapter. This is one of the ways the Chapter earns revenue. The revenue generated by the monthly or bi-monthly meetings also goes toward the administrative costs to keep the Chapter solvent. SMA’s Board of Directors are volunteers and receive no compensation for their work.

    You can be a member of other SHRM Chapters, but you can only designate one as your primary chapter.

    SMA South Florida is a 100% SHRM affiliate chapter, so in order to be considered for membership you must first become a member of SHRM.
